Local musician Nick Boyd joins YAM in January for a 3 week long song-writing and music production project. Week one will focus on song writing here at Lakeshore Arts, then we are off-site at a local recording studio for the last two weeks of this workshop (January 23 & 30). Youth will get hands-on experience working with real recording equipment to produce 2-3 collaborative songs.

February – Improv with Simon McCamus Workshop
YES, AND… this is the golden rule of improvisation. Improviser, sketch-comedian, actor, writer, basketball lover, 6th member of Fake Cops Comedy Troupe, and teaching faculty at The Second City Toronto, Simon McCamus will join YAM for the first three weeks in February to share his craft. Wallflowers beware, you may just find that your hidden comic wants to come out and play!

March – Game On: Coding Workshop
In this 4-week offsite workshop at the Brentwood Library, digital artist Lisa Wilson will teach us how to make our own online games using open-source coding software. Whether you are into RPG or puzzle games, this workshop will provide gamers of all levels with an introduction to HTML coding and the basics of video game design.
