SUMMARY:Creating a Portable Memorial
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Camila Salcedo & Cecilia Salcedo  \n\n\n\nCreating a Portable Memorial will be a sensory workshop through which we engage the five senses to remember family members far away\, or no longer with us. We will build our own sensory memory boxes via a series of activities from creating a digital collage to recreating objects with play dough\, so that we can return to them whenever we are missing our loved ones. \n\n\n\nMaterial kits will be delivered to participants with all the necessary materials for this workshop\, including wooden boxes and sensory objects. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCreating a Portable Memorial is part of the communications quad. This quad raises concerns around the problems in our world to do with the ways we communicate with one another on an individual\, community and institutional level\, and also how we communicate with ourselves. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhile workshops are free and open to anyone in Toronto\, space is limited and priority will be given to Etobicoke residents\, newcomers\, immigrants and refugees and people who experience barriers to accessing arts opportunities. All other applicants will be admitted on a first-come basis. Applicants will be notified about admission and receive a Zoom link by 5 days in advance of scheduled workshop dates. Information collected in applications is private and confidential. \n\n\n\n\nApply to Participate\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\nEXPLORE AND PARTICIPATE IN DESIRE(D) PATHS VIRTUAL EXHIBITION

SUMMARY:Writing a Letter to your Immigrant Self
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Alejandro Rizzo Nervo & denirée isabel \n\n\n\nUsing an interactive game-like approach\, together we retrace our past selves as we journey back through time in the form of writing. We ask you to reflect on when you immigrated to your current home and the relationships you’ve developed between here and there\, now and then while acknowledging the uprooting that occurs when relocating. \n\n\n\nMaterial kits will be delivered to participants with all the necessary materials for this workshop\, including origami paper and writing utensils. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWriting a Letter to your Immigrant Self is part of the communications quad. SUMMARY:Art funding loopholes for non-permanent residents in Canada
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Ana Luisa Bernárdez & Sebastián Rodríguez y Vasti \n\n\n\nSecuring funding for projects as a non-permanent resident can be tricky due to the eligibility criteria of most granting bodies. SUMMARY:The world I want to see
DESCRIPTION:If there was one greener thing you would today\, what would it be? Our Youth Climate Collective has combined some creative actionable things to make today greener. Watch and share this inspiring video created by 12 to 16 year old climate change advocates challenging each of us to make the Earth a World we want to see.  \nThe youth have produced this video through a series of weekly mentorship workshops co-facilitated by Nick Sweetman\, Graham Budgeon\, and Eliza Martin. Through the sessions\, they were guided in identifying what environmental issues speak to them most and how to address them through art activism. The youth brainstormed and developed together with the storyboard for the video\, content\, visual representation and where the video is to be shared. In just eight weeks they have acquired the skills of transforming advocacy ideas into actions and taking advantage of the digital space to do so.  \nLSA is proud to have witnessed this process and wishes all the mentees an impactful journey as creative climate change advocates. Make the Earth happy and greener today in their honour! \n  \nThis program has been generously supported by Delta Bingo.
