DESCRIPTION:Led by: Camila Salcedo & denirée isabel \n\n\n\nDiscover the magic of the natural world around you! This workshop will teach participants a few different natural dye techniques from dyeing to flower pounding with local plant materials. SUMMARY:Art funding loopholes for non-permanent residents in Canada
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Ana Luisa Bernárdez & Sebastián Rodríguez y Vasti \n\n\n\nSecuring funding for projects as a non-permanent resident can be tricky due to the eligibility criteria of most granting bodies. In this workshop we will discuss options and loopholes to find ways around these obstacles. There will be a presentation followed by a discussion\, and participants are welcome to bring project ideas to brainstorm funding options together.  \n\n\n\nNo materials are needed for this workshop\, but participants will need a computer and access to the internet.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArt funding loopholes for non-permanent residents in Canada is part of the Identification quad. This quad is focused around the imposed systems of Identity Documents as tools for surveillance and control. The quad reimagines other ways to identify our inner beings that are not focused on constructs such as our nationality\, race or gender. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhile workshops are free and open to anyone in Toronto\, space is limited and priority will be given to Etobicoke residents\, newcomers\, immigrants and refugees and people who experience barriers to accessing arts opportunities. SUMMARY:Animation PA Day Camp
DESCRIPTION:We’re offering a virtual PA Day camp on Friday\, June 4th\, for campers ages 8-12. Campers will dive into the history of animation\, learn fundamentals in drawing cartoons and the different styles of animations and comic books. ⁣Facilitated by illustrator and 3D artist BritneyCoates\, campers will feel excited and confident to explore the style they like best while continuing to develop their overall drawing ability! ⁣ \n\n\n\n\n\nAnimation part 1: History & Technique\n\n\n\nMorning 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, students will be introduced to a brief history of animation in North America; a demonstration of basic drawing techniques; and an exploration of different cartoon styles. \n\n\n\n\n\nAnimation part 2: Anime/Mange Style\n\n\n\nAfternoon 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM \n\n\n\nIn part two\, students will start with an overview of animation in Japan (known as anime)\, as well as its comic-book counterpart: manga. Register TODAY!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet the Facilitator\n\n\n\n\nBritney Cotes\n\n\n\nBritney has been an artist since she was a toddler drawing on the walls (much to her mother’s dismay). She grew up playing video games\, watching Disney movies and anime\, and eventually graduated from two animation schools before beginning her career as a freelance artist\, and then as an artist for video games. Britney works as a 3D Generalist at a children’s media production company in Toronto\, a wonderful city where she indulges her other great love: food. Brit and her partner run a small design company\, Kitchensink Creative\, and live together with their little rescue dog\, Whisky. \n\n\n\nPORTFOLIO: www.kitchensinkcreative.ca

SUMMARY:The world I want to see
DESCRIPTION:If there was one greener thing you would today\, what would it be? Our Youth Climate Collective has combined some creative actionable things to make today greener. Watch and share this inspiring video created by 12 to 16 year old climate change advocates challenging each of us to make the Earth a World we want to see.  \nThe youth have produced this video through a series of weekly mentorship workshops co-facilitated by Nick Sweetman\, Graham Budgeon\, and Eliza Martin. Through the sessions\, they were guided in identifying what environmental issues speak to them most and how to address them through art activism. The youth brainstormed and developed together with the storyboard for the video\, content\, visual representation and where the video is to be shared. In just eight weeks they have acquired the skills of transforming advocacy ideas into actions and taking advantage of the digital space to do so.  \nLSA is proud to have witnessed this process and wishes all the mentees an impactful journey as creative climate change advocates. Make the Earth happy and greener today in their honour! \n  \nThis program has been generously supported by Delta Bingo.
