SUMMARY:Natural Dyeing
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Camila Salcedo & denirée isabel \n\n\n\nDiscover the magic of the natural world around you! This workshop will teach participants a few different natural dye techniques from dyeing to flower pounding with local plant materials. We will talk about the importance of buying locally\, appreciating the lands we are on\, and being conscious of our impact on the systems of global trades.  \n\n\n\nMaterial kits will be delivered to participants with all the necessary materials for this workshop\,  including natural dyes\, flowers and fabric. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNatural Dyeing is part of the Importation quad. This quad invites audiences to learn about the life cycles of different imported and exported objects in relation to the environment and human labour\, through reflecting on their personal impact on consumption. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhile workshops are free and open to anyone in Toronto\, space is limited and priority will be given to Etobicoke residents\, newcomers\, immigrants and refugees and people who experience barriers to accessing arts opportunities. All other applicants will be admitted on a first-come basis. Applicants will be notified about admission and receive a Zoom link by 5 days in advance of scheduled workshop dates. Information collected in applications is private and confidential. \n\n\n\n\nApply to Participate\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\nExplore and participate in Desire(d) Paths virtual exhibition

SUMMARY:Creating Your Desired Travel Document
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Ana Luisa Bernárdez & Sebastián Rodríguez y Vasti \n\n\n\nCreating Your Desired Travel Document will be a hands-on workshop that explores ideas behind travel\, immigration laws\, and borders and therefore\, identity documents like passports\, visas\, and permits. Participants will then create their own desired travel document. This will be followed by a discussion where we collectively reflect on our creations.  \n\n\n\nMaterial kits will be delivered to participants with all the necessary materials for this workshop\, including cardstock\, construction paper and drawing utensils. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCreating Your Desired Travel Document is part of the Identification quad. This quad is focused around the imposed systems of Identity Documents as tools for surveillance and control. The quad reimagines other ways to identify our inner beings that are not focused on constructs such as our nationality\, race or gender. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nApply to Participate

SUMMARY:Designing a Transportation Vehicle
DESCRIPTION:Led by: Alejandro Rizzo Nervo & Cecilia Salcedo \n\n\n\nJoin us for the Designing a Transportation Vehicle workshop. We will create an opportunity to connect design thinking and hands-on making to reconsider how and why we move across the world. Using prompts\, we will encourage participants to think imaginatively and out of the box\, forgoing any preconceived ideas of how transportation and vehicles can function. \n\n\n\nMaterial kits will be delivered to participants with all the necessary materials for this workshop\, including tape\, stickers\, and construction paper. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDesigning a Transportation Vehicle is part of the Transportation quad. This quad invites audiences to consider problems regarding transportation that are linked to national borders\, such as mobility and tourism\, through reimagining new forms of ethical human movement. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nApply to Participate

SUMMARY:Q Summit's Poetry Reading
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a live-stream spoken-word event by Lakeshore Arts presented by brilliant 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their allies aged 16 to 21.
