About the Program
Art Integration is a 5-week workshop series designed to support holistic well-being by integrating the mental, emotional, physical, and relationship dimensions of the human experience.

About the Artist
Carmen Ocampo (she/they) is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and psychologist originally from Colombia. Her practice explores healing, identity, and social transformation through community-engaged and collaborative art. Drawing on her clinical and social psychology background, she works with youth and adults to foster creative expression, empowerment, and community connection. Carmen holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from York University and is the founder from 2009 of Matiz Project, a transdisciplinary collective dedicated to community-based art practices.
Thanks to a $1 million investment over four years from the Slaight Family Foundation, Workman Arts is expanding its art training programs throughout the GTA by partnering with Scarborough Arts, Urban Arts, North York Arts, East End Arts, Arts Etobicoke and Lakeshore Arts. The expanded program tackles the prevalence of social isolation in individuals with mental health issues and the lack of opportunities to build lasting social connections through meaningful engagement outside of the mainstream mental health system. Workman Arts’ art training programs are unique in the mental health sector because they do not treat the art class as secondary to the mental health benefits. High-quality art classes across all disciplines are facilitated by instructors with lived experience of mental health and/or addiction issues.
Art Insight – A partnership with Workman Arts and Lakeshore Arts is specifically looking to add programming in South Etobicoke. This includes the area between Etobicoke Creek to the West, and the Humber River to the East, The Queensway to the North, and the lakeshore to the south.
