Volunteer for our latest exhibition!

From February to April 2023, Lakeshore Arts will be holding a series of events and a community-focused exhibition to celebrate Black History Month. Gathering: The Art of Black Culture and Heritage is a participatory project that will invite the community to co-create a space that spotlights and affirms elements of Black culture, including food, hair, and objects of personal significance.
LSA is seeking volunteers to support the following activities:
Exhibition Opening (2 volunteers) – February 17, 2023, evening (time TBD)
- Event set-up
- Music
- Replenishing food/drink/plates/napkins
- Photo/video documentation
- Event clean-up
Exhibition Run (2 volunteers) – February 16 to April 27, 2023 (hours TBD)
- Engagement with visitors: answering questions and leading discussions
- Registering objects received on site for the exhibition
- Printing community photo submissions
- Opening/closing the Community Project Space
- Tracking visitor numbers
Workshop 1 (1-2 volunteers) – March 22 2023, 6-8PM
