Over the past three years, Lakeshore Arts has partnered with Kaeja d’Dance to bring their award-winning and critically acclaimed Porch View Dances to South Etobicoke. This was to be our fourth year of connecting the communities along the Lakeshore through dance, however due to the current state of our world we have had to reimagine this year’s Porch View Dances.
Join us for an online gathering of PVD2020: Reflections on the Lakeshore; where we will take a look back at the past three years of PVD in Long Branch, New Toronto, and Mimico. The virtual guided tour will take us back through the stories told in previous years, building our community connections while social distancing.

ABOUT PORCH VIEW DANCES
Porch View Dances: Real People Dancing In Real Spaces is a community dance event conceived by Karen Kaeja and developed with Allen Kaeja of Kaeja d’Dance that has been successful in the Seaton Village community for over seven years.
Since 2017, PVD has been giving Etobicoke – Lakeshore communities an opportunity to connect and engage with their neighbours through storytelling and dance.
In the manner of a guided neighbourhood tour, PVD audience members travel from house to house to see families and friends performing on the porches and front yards of their own homes. These dances celebrate the lives, stories and cultural diversities of community residents, as well as the history of the neighbourhood. The tour ends with a Flock Landing, a participatory group dance that invites audience members to join in the movement.
