Ben Luu

Ben Luu (he/him) is a graphic designer and artist based out of Tkaronto/Toronto, Canada. His practice includes elements of illustration, print-making, poetry, and dance, touching upon topics of technology and queer identity.

Jasmine C

Jasmine (she/her) loves creating—whether it’s stitching something by hand or putting feelings into words. She’s still learning, taking her time with crochet, embroidery, and poetry, enjoying the process more than perfection. Writing helps her make sense of emotions, capturing small moments that might otherwise slip away.

She feels most at peace in nature, whether it’s a quiet walk or watching the sky change colors. Traveling, trying new foods, and getting lost in a good movie are some of her favorite ways to experience the world. She finds beauty in simple things and believes creativity is just another way of seeing and feeling deeply.

Ifetayo Z. Alabi

Ifetayo Z. Alabi is a mixed-Afro-Indigenous, queer, trans/non-binary, and disabled individual. Ifetayo is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked in drawing, painting, collage, photography, filmmaking, poetry, and performance art. They graduated from OCAD University with a BFA in 2023. They have been working as professional artist for almost seven years now.

Ifetayo has worked with BLM Toronto, Pride Toronto, Harbourfront Centre, and Vancouver Queer Film Festival. In 2024 they had their short film RUNNING shown at the Bless the Telephone Film Festival and had their written sketch work about BPD published as part of The Madville Collective. They are based in Toronto and worked in Vancouver for a few years before studying at OCAD.

Nicole Hai Nhu Tran

Nicole is a multidisciplinary artist drawn to storytelling in all its forms. With a deep curiosity about consciousness and human connection, their work explores the complexities of experience. When not creating (or doing homework), she’s spending time with loved ones, growing mushrooms, and playing Mario Kart.

Tiffany Nguyen

Thư is a Vietnamese pisces and visual artist. She believes in a collaborative, justice-centred, and fluid creative practice. Her growth model resides in finding more time to play and linger in conversation.

Meet the Mentors:

Melly Davidson

Melly (she/they) is a queer poet, dancer, and educator from Mohkínstsis (Calgary). They are part of a Lebanese diaspora which settled and found refuge in Jamaica. She currently lives in Tkaronto (Toronto), where she rides her bike too fast and says the word “sticky” too much.

Martin Gomes

Martin (he/him/they) is an Afro-Latinx, queer, citrus fruit lovin poet born & based in downtown Toronto. His official poetry journey began under the tutelage of Britta B at JAYU, a charitable organization that shares human rights stories through the arts and engaging conversations. His unofficial journey began with his first exposure to poetry: A Goofy Movie 2 and an episode of Fresh Prince where Will writes poetry under the guise of Raphael DeLaGhetto. Since then, he has gone from student to mentor at JAYU teaching both level 1 and level 2, and the Guelph Humber x JAYU poetry collaboration. He currently runs spoken word & beatboxing workshops with Unity charity. His goal is to create spaces that encourage folks to be their most authentic, genuine selves in a raw, real, “non-Disney” type of way. (He messes with Disney though, don’t get it twisted.)

(W)hole | 2024/25 Anthology

(W)hole, the 2024/25 Q Summit Anthology, will feature works by this year’s poets and is being illustrated by artist Hyunsun Park! Copies will be for sale at the showcase (cash and card accepted), with all funds going back to the poets!

Meet the Illustrator:

Hyunsun Park is an emerging illustrator based in Toronto, specializing in gouache paint to create dream-like snapshots that tell evocative stories about people, including herself. A 2023 graduate of OCAD University with a Bachelor of Design in Illustration, her work frequently addresses socio political themes such as anti-capitalism, feminism, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. As a BIPOC and queer-identifying artist, Hyunsun values inclusive visual communication that fosters empathy and sparks meaningful discussions. Her artwork combines humor with serene aesthetics, inviting viewers to engage with the complexities of human experience and shared connections.
