Our Community Hubs drop-in programs are returning this winter and spring, with FREE art activities suitable for the whole family! Join us at LSA for a weekly Song Circle, and Sewing and Fibre Arts program! No registration required, no experience necessary, all materials provided. See full program descriptions below!
Location: 2422 Lake Shore Blvd. W, Etobicoke
Lakeshore Arts’ Community Project space is located on the first floor of a building with 3 stairs at the entrance, and a non-automatic door. There is a ramp available upon request, please email us if you require ramp access. Our bathrooms are located at basement level, only accessible by a flight of stairs.
Song Circle
Time: 7-8:30PM
Dates: Tuesdays, starting February 17th until June 9th
Description: Experience the magic of singing with others! Join members of Toronto Community Singing for a family-friendly weekly song circle at Lakeshore Arts. All voices are welcome, to sing in community, no previous experience required. The songs are heart centered, fun and taught in the oral tradition of call and response. Come sing with us, you’ll love it!

Sewing & Fibre Arts
Time: 1-3:30PM
Dates: Saturdays, starting February 28th until April 25th
Description: Explore sewing and fibre arts with artist Jennifer Choo Chee, with projects suitable for all ages and abilities. Participants will have the opportunity to complete a 30-minute sewing project or explore various fibre crafts using sewing machines or hand sewing techniques. Follow along to learn a new project each week, such as scrunchies and bandanas, drop-in anytime during the workshop to follow along!
All supplies for sewing projects will be supplied, feel free join and bring your own sewing projects and materials!

Meet The Facilitators

Song Circle: Merita Elmazovski
Merita is a community song leader, facilitator, and one of the founding members of the Toronto Community Singing (TCS) Collective. She participated in the ‘Grow Your Wings’ training series for aspiring song leaders, led by community song leaders & mentors Steph Drouin and Paul Barton from Fiercely OK. This training helped spark what eventually became TCS. She has also completed song leadership training with certified Full Voice Coach Mila Redwood, who is the Founder of Sing for Joy in Toronto.
As a core circle holder and song leader, she helps guide regularly scheduled community song circles across the city, creating spaces rooted in connection, safety, and belonging.
Song Circle: Roberta Harris
Roberta, nickname Robin, started singing at a young age and has always found much joy and upliftment from it. She’s been in Gospel, Jazz, and Classical Choirs. Roberta has written songs since her youth, which marry well with the call and response tradition of singing, a tradition she is in love with.
When she isn’t singing, Roberta is an Outdoor Education Instructor and Life Coach for youth. As a Life Coach Roberta created and facilitates a programme Called “Discovering Your Strengths and Learning Strengths From Nature Workshop.”


Song Circle: Rufus Glassco
Rufus Glassco is a trilingual facilitator who works with sound and nature to help people of all ages to connect, learn and heal. His company, Sound Benefits, specializes in experiential learning and healing through Drum Circles, with a focus on health and wellness, as well as Sound Healing, Community Singing, Forest Bathing and Shamanic Coaching. He helps both individuals and groups to relax, and come into greater resonance and harmony.
He is also an Advanced HealthRHYTHMS facilitator and a HealthRHYTHMS Adolescent Protocol facilitator, and has studied the art of drum circle facilitation, and how to heal with drums, with some of the best known pioneers in the industry. He is also fluent in English, French and Spanish.
Sewing & Fibre Arts: Jennifer Choo Chee
Jennifer Choo Chee is a wife, mom, former reserve soldier, and dog lover from Trinidad and Tobago. She makes handmade pieces that help fund her Canadian Transplant Games journey and share her passion for organ donation awareness after her life-saving 2008 kidney transplant.
She is a dedicated community figure in South Etobicoke, known for her involvement with Lakeshore Arts, LAMP Community Health Centre, local sports (especially transplant games).
