Interplay

Funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program and in partnership with the Toronto Community Housing Corporation Lakeshore Arts will be working with residents of local apartment Edward’s Manor to animate their building. Working with professional artists, senior residents will learn the process of mural making and collaborate to design, execute and celebrate indoor and outdoor public artworks in the building’s common shared spaces. Creating opportunities for seniors to be socially engaged, learn a new skill, create something to be proud of and build increased ownership of their home and community. This program kicks off on July the project will wrap by the end of 2018.

The program will consist of 6 weeks of workshops, happening twice weekly from August to mid-September creating the outdoor project, culminating in a celebration BBQ in September and will then be followed by another 6 weeks of workshops, happening twice weekly from October to November creating an indoor mural project, culminating in a celebration party in November.
