VIRTUAL PA DAY CAMP 2020
Lakeshore Arts is bringing our PA Day Camp to you! We will continue to offer our series of PA Day Camps throughout the 2020/2021 school year virtually until further notice.
Participants ages 8-12 will have the opportunity to work with professional artists from a variety of disciplines to explore new art forms and techniques in PA Day Camps at Lakeshore Arts. Together we will get creative in a multifaceted exploration into arts and expression.
On November 20th, participants will have the opportunity to participate in virtual workshops from the comfort of their own homes and engage with fantastic artist facilitators as they guide youth through a morning and afternoon workshop.
There will be a maximum of 20 participants per workshop. You will be notified by email if you have been placed on the waitlist.
PA Day camps are Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) with a suggested contribution of $15.00 per participant per date. Please contact communityprograms@lakeshorearts.ca if you have any questions.
PA DAY CAMP OUTLINE
Morning Workshop: 10:00am – 11:15am
Keith Haring Pop Up Paper Dance Party
with Ray Vidal
In this workshop, participants will learn how to construct colourful 3d paper sculptures, inspired by New York pop artist Keith Haring, and make them come to still life.
Required Materials:
- Plain white paper or bristol board
- Variety of coloured bristol or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick or Glue bottle
- Marker
- Pencil
- Eraser
Afternoon Workshop: 1:00pm – 2:15pm
Fossil Making
with Rachel Rozanski
In this workshop, participants are going to learn how fossils are made- and make some themselves. Using leaves and other things that can be found around the house, participants will make imprints that can be hung inside or buried to be dug up outside. We will also be looking at fossils found across Canada to learn a little bit about where they’re often hiding and how they got there.
Required Materials:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup of salt
- 3/4 cup water
- oven (optional)
- Leaves and sticks to print with
- baking tray
