Volunteers Wanted!

Great opportunity to give back to your community!

Lakeshore Arts is looking for a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help out at this year’s Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival at Assembly Hall on May 6th & 7th, 2016!

Now in its sixth year, Lakeshorts fosters the arts community in South Etobicoke while showcasing the passion and spirit of cutting-edge independent film.

The Friday evening Scotiabank Loved and Local screening will feature emerging and local filmmakers, and the Saturday evening Lakeshorts Gala screening and after party will feature a dynamic program of films by filmmakers from Canada and around the world, including the festival award winners.

In order to make the festival a success we’re going to need some extra help with setup, food service and take down throughout. This is an exciting opportunity for folks who are interested in event management, service delivery and, of course, film! Plus, you’ll have a chance to catch some of the shorts being screened!

WHEN
Friday May 6th, 5:45 – 11:00pm
Saturday May 7th, 6:00 – 12:00am

WHERE
Assembly Hall
1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive
Toronto, Ontario
M8V 4B6

WHO
A team of 7 volunteers for each night – ideally folks with experience in the service industry and a passion for film! We’re looking for volunteers who are friendly, reliable and thrive in a fast paced, social environment.

WHAT
Event space setup and teardown, food service, bussing tables, restocking service bar, general catering duties.

THE PERKS
Each volunteer will have the opportunity to catch a block of short films by distinguished artists throughout each (or both!) nights and become acquainted with a local arts service organization.

HOW
Sound like something you’d like to get involved with? Great! Send a quick email to our Gallery Coordinator Jacqui (jacqui@lakeshorearts.ca) indicating when you’re available (Friday, Saturday or both) and letting her know about your related experience and interests by Tuesday May 3rd at 5:00pm and we will get back to you as soon as possible to fill you in on the orientation process!
