Elements of theatre is Lakeshore Arts program featuring participants of Community Living Toronto.
Lakeshore Arts engaged Community Living Clients at the Judson St. location, in a fulsome nine month long program in dramatic arts and performance.
Following an incredibly successful 6 week improv program delivered at Community Living hosted by Lakeshore Arts with clients in the spring of 2018, it became apparent that a more in-depth program would be mutually beneficial and engaging. For consistency and skill building, the program offered one hour sessions, twice weekly between October 2018 and June 2019 utilizing Lakeshore Arts Staff and trained professional artist facilitators.
About the Improv Workshops
Colourful and animated workshops introducing drama games, singing, dancing and arts and crafts will be geared to multiple levels of skills and modalities while keeping the structure and outcomes fluid to adapt to client participation levels on any given day.
This program is geared towards inclusion whether it’s Community Living Staff, clients as audience members, helping behind the scenes or right out in front in the spotlight – there is a role for everyone to take part. While the focus of the program lies in the process we think it is important to celebrate all the participant’s efforts and host a lively collective showcase in June 2019 for an audience of friends and family.
