New Family Event added to Lakeshorts Film Festival

Celebrating its 9th year, the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival is pleased to announce the inaugural TD Bank Family Screening: Big Questions from Little Films at the Assembly Hall on Saturday, May 4th in partnership with Fifth Ground Entertainment and Michelle Nolden.

We are proud to have TD Bank as the title sponsor for the family screening. TD Bank continues to support arts and culture that reflect diverse voices through their The Ready Commitment program

TD Bank Family Screening is showcasing six short films from around the world, including Columbia, Netherlands and Canada and range from 2 to 12 minutes in length. The films reflect a wide range of topics including the curiosity of youth, the challenges they face, climate change and the importance of family. Adult accompaniment is required and recommended viewing age is 8 and up due to the content of some films. These films are a vehicle for discussion and will spark opportunities for ongoing conversations.

Schedule:

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and audience members will be able to walk the blue carpet, have their picture taken, enjoy live music and participate in a stop motion animation workshop before the screening begins. Refreshments and food will also be served prior to the screening which starts at 12:15 pm. The screening will open with a live drumming performance and is hosted by former TVO Kids; The Space host, Kara Harun.
