ARCHIVE:

Local Vocals women’s choir is a sessional (usually 6-week) pop-up group that is fun, social and ever so musical! This 2021 summer session, Local Vocals offers an online, 4-week music and singing program for adults of all genders. Members will sing popular songs in a laid-back atmosphere among new and old friends. The fun, varied and often familiar repertoire is chosen in advance of each session, and practice tracks are usually made available for review between rehearsals. The Local Vocals choir has historically been a women’s fundraising group for the Mimico Children’s Choir and has performed in the Children’s Choir’s main concerts.

We welcome new members of all genders and abilities – no audition and no experience required! Although this year has a Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) fee, payment is not required to participate in this program.

Spring Concert 2018

Why Join?

You will learn new songs and celebrate old favourites that will lift your spirits and bring you a sense of joy and accomplishment. The choir is both social and stress-relieving and by taking time to nourish your creative self, you may come to think of your time spent singing as self-care. You will get to create, express and be part of a small community of friendly choristers. Since the program invites people from across Etobicoke and the GTA, you will have an inter-cultural and diverse art experience.
