Francis Tomkins (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice includes animation, collage, zine making, and workshop facilitation. They have a BFA in Cross-Disciplinary Arts: Publications from OCAD University and have worked within the arts and accessibility sectors at Tangled Art + Disability, StopGap Foundation and Toronto Queer Film Festival. Their work has been featured by Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS), RestFest Film Festival, and Arts Etobicoke. Francis is passionate about how art can be used to create and sustain connected communities.

Join Carmen Ocampo for the new series of our Art + Wellbeing program, presented by Workman Arts, Lakeshore Arts, and Toronto Community Housing.
Over the course of 6 workshops, participants will design and build their own miniature zen garden using clay, wood, paint, and even real plants. Each session invites participants into a guided process of creation and reflection that explores themes such as identity, resilience, gratitude, and empowerment.
Priority is given to folks with lived experience of mental health and/or addiction issues. No experience is required for this course. All materials are provided.
Registration is open from April 2nd to 14th, 2026. Please note there is a limit to the number of participants. Only selected participants will be contacted with a confirmation email.
